 9/22/2008 Cherry Hill Church, Mocksville NC

I heard about his church and cemetery from a website of another local group. reports of sound of breathing over the fence as well as behind the church and cemetery.

The drive was not as far as I thought it would be. When Shelly and I got there, We pulled to the back of the church and there were two Amber lights; one in the back and one on the side of the church. From the back of the church, the cemetery looked very large but when we got to it, it was the opposite. In the initial walk around, we noticed the sound of a very large, somewhat angry cow in the distance behind the fence, probably several hundred feet out. No other animals were visible. I heard sounds coming from he woods behind the church sounding like a woman. We also heard sounds of foot steps in the gravel by the church while we were in the cemetery. While investigating by the church, we heard noising coming from the woods which sounded like falling branches and large branches being stepped on and broken. Again, there was nothing in the woods and no sounds of little animals running away. The orbs caught in the photos match the areas we heard the strange noises. But its really hard to judge orbs as spirits.

As far as EVP...no voices were recorded, but we did capture strange noises. We left the voice recorder in the cemetery while investigating the rest of the grounds. During this time, we captured something hitting the microphone and then the head stone. Also several loud bangs....including one from the woods that we heard that sounded as though someone was walking around or deliberately breaking branches. All in all, it was a great test run  and we will be heading back soon for further investigations.

“On our investigation at Cherry Hill Church, while I did not actually physically see anything abnormal, I must admit that the atmosphere surrounding the church was quite... creepy, to say the least. And while our findings may be, perhaps, debatable, I would, if given the opportunity, go back to the church and try again to investigate and discern the validity behind the sayings that the church is, in fact, home to something – or someone – paranormal. As for my own beliefs in the recordings and photographs taken, I can honestly say that the noises heard in the woods and the unnerving, perhaps almost fearful, sensations the church and cemetery gave me were, in themselves, impressive.”

9-1-08 Piney Grove Church Concord NC

Shelly and myself went out in search of this abandoned church and it's cemetery. The church itself was in great shape, minus a few dents and dings on the outside. The inside...is a different story. The church was said to be abandoned with everything left inside, and to tell the truth, there was not much left. Broken glass and furniture parts left behind by vandals. Rubble and broken glass covered the floor in all 3 rooms of the church. Spray paint was also all over the walls and the pictures are too graphic to put up. I did not get any uneasy feelings inside the church nor any photographic evidence.

The cemetery...needed to be mowed or something. It was covered with ant mounds and 3 1/2 foot grass, making it very difficult to navigate the cemetery. Again, there were no uneasy feelings felt or shadows moving. Orbs in the pictures are our winged little friends known as bugs.

I visited the Latta Plantation with visiting family. I figured we needed something to do...and it was rumored  to be haunted so I thought Id take a look around and see what was going on. The place itself was incredibly beautiful. I would love to live on a spread like that.

Anyway...The story.....this federal style house was built in 1800 by James Latta where it stayed in the Latta family until the 1840's and then was sold and passed on several times over.  It's now a historic site, and is supposedly  haunted by the family. Frequently during tour, strange things happen, like the tourist would hear kids playing in the attic, running around. One time during a tour, the tour guide had introduced  a  walking cane that was used by one of the members of the family and all of a sudden it started moving as if a spirit was walking on it, and it then fell on the ground. Occurrences happen when employees are alone such as doors opening and closing by themselves, footsteps, and even shadows are witnessed and unexplainable.
 
While I was in the house (no photography was allowed) I didn't see anything out of the ordinary or hear anything. I did record the entire 30 minute tour just in case however nothing was found out of the ordinary.
